It includes books by the best authors and poets for children of all ages to read and write. Moreover, tablet and co-curricular activities are also included. TechScape has been working in educational technology in Gilgit-Baltistan since its inception. The institute is spreading technical expertise and digital skills across Gilgit-Baltistan. TechScape will include the mobile library in its camps in the current year. A landmark agreement between TechScape and Idara-e-Taleem-o-Agahi was signed at SCO Software Technology Park, Gilgit. The agreement aims to highlight children's educational trends, reading, and writing in Gilgit-Baltistan. We were privileged to host an outstanding lineup of keynote speakers: Prof. Alessandro Ricci (University of Bologna) — “Agent Programming in the Generative AI Era” Prof. Enrico Gerding (University of Southampton) — “AI in Transportation” Dr. Rafael C. Cardoso(University of Aberdeen) — “Neuro-Symbolic Decision-Making in Autonomous Agents” I also had the opportunity to deliver a tutorial session titled “Computer Vision in Engineering: From Visual Perception to Intelligent Automation”, where we explored how vision-based intelligence is reshaping modern engineering workflows. Beyond our workshop, ECAI 2025 offered excellent sessions and insightful papers, particularly in computer vision and applied AI, reflecting the dynamic progress of the research community. Sincere thanks to my co-organizers Dr. Karl Mason and Dr. Marcos Cruz Victorio for their great collaboration, and to University of Galway - College of Science and Engineering and Research Ireland for their logisitics and funding support. Najeeb Khan liked thisNajeeb Khan liked thisIf you work with large in-memory data sets in Java, I highly recommend reading up on the Foreign Memory API. In "normal" Java code, all your data goes on the heap and gets tracked by the garbage collector. This creates problems for large datasets (think 10GB+ in-memory analytics): • long GC pauses (see my previous writing on humongous object treatment) • memory pressure • heap sizing challenges But there is officially another option as of Java 22. Using the Foreign Memory API, you can allocate massive datasets off-heap and bypass GC entirely for that data. Java has long had the jdk.internal.misc.Unsafe API for doing this, but the Foreign Memory API: • is standardized/portable across JVMs • has far fewer places to shoot yourself in the foot • is a lot easier to understand, in my opinion This is only an API you'd reach for with a specialized use case, but it's nice knowing it's there.
